PATRONAGE SCHEME

WHAT IS IT?

This scheme provides an opportunity for all members of the community to contribute to the financial wellbeing of our churches, by paying for their running costs on a particular day of the year.

Each Patron, or joint Patrons (Mr & Mrs for example) specifies a memorable date, perhaps a birthday, wedding anniversary or day of remembrance. A Patron may pay for more than one day. It may not always be possible to choose a specific date, if it has already been secured by another Patron.

Patrons can, should they wish, have their name/names highlighted on a display board in the church.

WHAT IS THE COST?

Each day is different. Sometimes our churches are quiet and peaceful, at others they are filled with activity, either with services or our children's events. But there are always costs to be met, whether the electric bills, cleaning products or repairs to the roof.

We estimate that on average that the daily running cost for each of our churches and their direct support is £75.

HOW DO I PAY?

Payment is usually by standing order, either on a specific date or on the memorable date itself, paid annually, until the standing order is cancelled.

Funds received from a tax payer will allow church to claim Gift Aid, thereby increasing the amount by 25%. A Gift Aid declaration will need to be signed, if one is not already on record.

HOW DO I APPLY?

Please select your memorable day or days and then contact the Parish Office to enquire about the availability of the date(s). We will then make the appropriate arrangements.
