SAFEGUARDING

See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven.

Matthew 18:10

CREATING A SAFE ENVIRONMENT FOR ALL

Christian communities should be places where all people feel welcomed, respected and safe from abuse.

Our parish is committed to encouraging an environment where all people, and especially children and those who may be vulnerable, for any reason, are able to worship and pursue their faith journey with encouragement and in safety.

To this end we have adopted the House of Bishop’s policy for the safeguarding of children and adults as the basis for our own parish policies and practices.

Basic safeguarding awareness training is a mandatory requirement for all PCC members but it can also be helpful and useful for anyone, to develop their awareness and knowledge of safeguarding. Both basic and 'foundation' courses can be accessed on the Church of England website.
